Tim and Karrie League started the first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, TX, in 1997. Since then their theater has been a movie lovers hot stop, attracting filmmakers and theatergoers from all around. Quentin Tarantino’s known to be an advocate of this amazing theater.
The story of the Alamo Drafthouse arose from a simple concept: “We love great movies, cold beer, and delicious snack and built Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to celebrate all three” – said owner, Tim League. Soon after they open, the Alamo Drafthouse become widely popular later becoming a franchise.
They play a mix of movies from large Hollywood films to small-scale indie films. Today the Alamo Drafthouse has dozens of locations across the U.S. Each location, inspired by the same idea that got them started – crystal-clear visual and audio presentation with food and drink availability. Another interesting aspect of the theater is they don’t allow on-screen advertisements before the films. Instead, they play themed video that relate to the movie shown.

When entering your showing, a table is provided in front of the chairs for eating. This is the only theater in New Braunfels that offers a dine-in movie experience.
